If traditional calming techniques and the administration of nitrous oxide (commonly called laughing gas) are insufficient or if your child has extensive dental needs, we offer in-house sedation. Administered by our board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist, IV sedation is the Gold Standard of safety. Induction is provided through a mask, and our patients assist by “blowing up a balloon!” After your child is asleep, an IV is started to administer the sedation medications. We can safely render all treatment in one visit, which usually takes less than an hour.
